When Prachi and Kevin started planning this celebration, they knew it had to reflect the things they love most: the moments, memories, and people who brought them here. They are not exactly a conventional couple… so, why would their wedding be?
Travel
Prachi and Kevin's relationship has been an adventure since the beginning — from their first meeting in Chicago in November 2020 all the way to building a life together more than 8,000 miles away in India. In the past year, they have visited Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand, and explored mountains and beaches all across India.
Travel has always been a cornerstone of their relationship — and they couldn't be more excited to welcome loved ones to the shores of Goa to kick off this next chapter in style.

Traditions
As they explored new places, they found joy in creating their own traditions — like their love for lantern festivals. It began in Indiana, USA in 2021, and most recently brought them to the lantern-lit town of Hoi An, Vietnam for their first wedding anniversary in February 2025.
It is these kinds of shared memories — meaningful and a little magical — that they are excited to bring into their celebration in Goa.

Family (real and chosen)
Even though they come from different cultures, they soon realized that they shared a deep love for family.
Prachi quickly found her place in Kevins big Irish-American crew (20 first cousins!). From drawing out the Murphy family tree at her first family gathering to personalized Christmas stockings, everyone went out of their way to make her feel welcome.
Kevin, too, was all-in with Prachi's world — helping her best friend of 15+ years move, attending Holi parties in the cold Chicago spring, and showing Prachi's parents all around Chicago during their first ever visit to America in 2023.

Ring
Kevin knew that he wanted to meet Prachi's extended family before they could get engaged. And so, in fall of 2023 plans were hatched for Kevin's first visit to India, which is where he proposed — at Prachi's college in Mumbai where her journey to the U.S. began. The future was full of unknowns, but they had learned that together, they could take on everything from surprise border detentions and visa lotteries, to job changes and sick pets. Every twist only made their commitment stronger.
Carb Family
Of course, no version of this story is complete without their beloved loaf of fur, Sammi.
Sammi was part of everything — their first date, their first road trip, their first COVID shot — and their first big shared expense (pro tip: pet insurance is worth it).
Together, they were the Carb Family — with Sammi as the glue holding it all together. She was there through cozy nights, Halloween costumes, and big cross-country adventures. Though she's no longer here, her spirit is baked into this celebration, and she is forever a part of their story.
